a)       Ans:- A photographer couple, on a holiday in Kenya, clicked a picture of a lizard that bore a striking resemblance to Spiderman. The release of this photograph set ’fans all over the world in a frenzy.

B] What and how do Agamas eat?

a)    Ans:- Agamas eat locusts, crickets, mealworms and waxworms, seeds, berries and raw eggs. They wait in shadows for prey to pass by. When it does, they give chase and catch it, usually with the aid of their sticky, mucous-coated tongues. They use their sharp teeth to tear the food and chew it well. This helps them swallow their food easily.

C]What advice does the author give for those who would like to keep an Agamas as a pet?

a)       Ans:- The poet advises that if you decide to buy an Agama, you need to be prepared to look after it with a lot of love and care. Do not purchase the animal because it is ‘the in thing to do’. Consider the well-being of the animal before rushing to the nearest store.

D] In what ways is the Mwanza Flat-headed Rock Agama similar to Spider-man?

Ans:- The lizard’s striking red and blue markings are astonishingly similar to the suit worn by Spiderman. As the reptile crawls, it strikes a pose similar to Spiderman’s favourite crouching pose.

A] How are the dominant male Agamas different from the females and weak males?

a)       Ans:- The dominant males of the species exhibit brilliant colours, while weaker males and females are a dull brown. The head, neck and a part of the trunk of the dominant male are either a bright violet or red, while the rest of its body is a deep blue colour.

Males change their colour at night or in times of danger. The colours may also change depending on the dominant male’s mood.

several females and weaker males.

B] What happens when the Agama get into a skirmish? Why are the Agamas in great demand?

Ans:- When male Agamas get into a skirmish, their bodies develop white spots and their heads go brown. When fighting, Agamas start hissing at each other and also try to hit each other’s heads with their tails. These actions can be extremely violent and lead to hematomas or fractured jaws.

Agamas are in great demand as exotic pets, more so among Spiderman fans because of their striking resemblance with the super hero.
