The poet could not keep pace with the piper and the other children because of his lame foot He was sad, because he could not enjoy the pleasures of the joyous land that the Piper had promised the children.

In the joyous land, the waters gushed, fruit trees grew and the flowers exhibited a fairer shade of colour. The sparrows were brighter than the peacocks in the poet’s town, the dogs outran the fallow deer.

Answer the following questions in 80-100 words.

 

As promised the piper got rid of the rats from the town of Hamelin. The people were were overjoyed. The Mayor does not pay the piper the amount of money agreed upon and offered the piper only 50 guilders. The Piper threatened the village with drastic consequences, if he did not receive his full payment. But they ignored his warning. The Piper began to play his flute again. This time the children of the town, who began to follow him. The Piper reached a nearby mountain, a doorway opened and the piper along with the children disappeared into it. One lame boy could not keep pace with the other children and was left behind. He was sad because he could not enjoy the pleasure of the joyous land that the piper had promised the children.
