Ans.a) Zila Parishad grants fundamental facilities
and foresees the scheduling and implementation of the development programmes
for the district.

station in a district.
Ans. b) Each district works under the direction of
Superintendent of Police (SP) but under the general direction of the District
Collector.
The SP is responsible for the
supervision of all police stations in the district. Each district is divided
into several Sub-divisions.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police
is in command of the Sub – division. The officer incharge of a police station
is the Inspector. It is the duty of t he inspector to prevent and detect crime,
and maintain law and order within his jurisdiction.
The police stations are operated by
officers of the rank of Sub-Inspectors, Assistant Sub-Inspectors, Head
Constables and Constables.

Patwaris.

The patwari is responsible for
maintenance of record of the crops grown during every harvest.
·
He
maintains a diary and a work book for records which are updated from time to
time.
·
His
duties also include conducting surveys, field inspections, revision of maps or
reports related to alterations, partitions, revenue or rents, etc.

As
per the instructions of collector, he prepares the records of rights.
·
It
is the duty of patwari to report all serious mishaps disturbing the land or the
crops along with outbreaks of diseases.

He
is the foremost connect between the Tahsildar/Naib Tahsildar and the Patwari.

The
Kanungo organization consists of Field Kanungo, Office Kanungo and the District
Kanungo.
·
The
field kanungo frequently goes around observing the work of the Patwari on the
location. He examines the conduct and work of the patwari.
·
The
Office Kanungo takes the charge of all the records collected from the Patwari.
·
The
District kanungo is responsible for the efficiency of both the office and the
field Kanungo.
