Topic- Fabric- Warp and Weft a tapestry

Objective: To ………
·       identify various types of fabric used for clothing in India
·       differentiate types of clothes worn by the people of India

Materials Required:
To be sourced by the student
1.  Web links and books related to the topic.
2. Scrap book and pictures related to the topic.
3.  Stationery related to the project – pencils, colours, glue, crayons, etc.
Procedure:
Divide the students in groups. Do the following:
1.     Find out information about different types of fabric used in clothes commonly worn by people in different regions of India – Northern India, Southern India, Western India, Eastern India (Research)
2.     State reasons for wearing different types of fabrics in different regions of India while relating it to the climatic conditions (Think)
3.     Write names and types of fabrics commonly used in different regions of India (Do)
4.     Paste pictures of traditional dress labelling the fabric and its benefits in the scrapbook (Do)
